Margaret Hemphill is the Administrator of the Reformed Presbyterian Home. Margie is responsible for the day to day operations of the Home as well as oversight of the staff and residents. Margie is a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and is a life long member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America. Because her grandfather, father, uncles, husband and father in law have been pastors in the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Margie finds many friends in the visitors from the church who come to see residents at the Home.
Linda Long is the Director of Nursing. Linda has been in long term care since 1983 and has been involved in the Pennsylvania Association of Directors of Nursing in Long Term Care since the early 1980’s. Linda is also licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator and brings both an in depth knowledge of the regulatory requirements for long term care and an impressive clinical background to her position as Director of Nursing. Linda is responsible for the nursing program and the nursing staff on a twenty-four hour basis and has now been at the Home for nine years.
The newest member of our department head staff is Denise Colbert who is the Director of Assisted Living. Denise started in this capacity in December of 2005. Denise has lived just “down the street” from the Home for the last eighteen years and knows the immediate neighborhood well. Denise has been a certified Personal Care Boarding Home Administrator since 1991, and recently completed the newly required one hundred hour course for Personal Care Boarding Home Administrators. Denise is responsible for oversight of all staff and residents in the Assisted Living Unit as well as the responsibility of making sure that the regulations for a Personal Care Boarding Home are met.
Gwen Murphy DTR is the Director of Food and Nutrition Services. Gwen is responsible for the oversight of the resident dietary needs and manages the employees in the Food and Nutrition Department. Besides the daily dietary needs of the residents, Gwen oversees all of the special Home functions that include meals or any kind of food accompaniment and she brings great expertise to this task. Gwen has been at the Home for seven years plus. Her previous work experience also encompassed food service in long term care facilities.
Mindy Cable is the Director of Activities. Mindy has been at the Home the longest of any of our department heads. She started working at the Home February 14, 1983. Under her direction the residents are kept interested in life and their needs for social interaction are met in a variety of ways. Mindy is a registered music therapist and she uses her considerable musical talent to enliven and calm and comfort the residents.
Mary Balok wears two hats as the Admissions Coordinator and the Director of Social Services. New residents and families are introduced to the Home by Mary and come away from their tours and telephone conversations feeling accepted and less frightened of an unknown environment to which they would rather not come. As Social Service Director Mary acts as the resident advocate and she uses her God given talents in this area well. Mary is also a life long member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Rachel Mignogna, Director of Therapy, is not officially one of our own employees. She comes to us on contract from Select Medical Services. However, Rachel has been placed by Select Medical as the Physical Therapist at the Home since the early 1990’s. She provides expert oversight of occupational therapy and speech therapy as well as providing continuity of care in the area of physical therapy to all of our residents who need it.
Bill Gillies, the Director of Environmental Services is also not officially our employee but comes to us under contract from ARAMARK (originally ServiceMaster). Bill oversees housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, security, transportation and grounds keeping.
